The Selwyn Sound Co., LLC is an independent music company and online record shop based in the Hudson Valley, New York.

Founded in 2017, we started with a simple idea: music should feel personal again. Records, artists, songs, scenes, and local communities all matter. Our shop exists for people who still care about the full experience of music — discovering it, collecting it, listening closely, and sharing it with others.

We sell new vinyl records across genres, along with select audio gear and music-related goods. Every record in our shop is chosen with the same basic standard: it should be worth putting on, sitting with, and coming back to.

More Than a Record Shop

The Selwyn Sound Co. is also home to a growing music ecosystem. Through our label and publishing work, including Third Valley Records and Third Valley Publishing, we support artists, songwriters, producers, and independent music projects with a focus on ownership, development, and long-term catalog building.

What We’re Building

We are not trying to be the biggest record store on the internet. We are building something more grounded: a music company rooted in taste, care, community, and independent culture.

From our online shop to Vinyl Night every Monday at Industrial Arts Brewing Co. in Beacon, to our occasional live shows — everything we do is about connection. Music has always been the thing that brings people together, and that’s exactly what we’re here for.
